Verse 61Awareness

The Middle Between Two Thoughts

Bhairava

Notice the small pause between two thoughts, two breaths, or two impulses. Instead of following either side, rest in that in-between stillness. In that quiet center, awareness becomes clear by itself.

उभयोभाधियोज्ञाधने ध्यात्वा मध्यं समाश्रयेत् । युगपच्च द्वयं त्यक्त्वा मध्ये तत्त्वं प्रकाशते ॥ ६१ ॥

ubhayobhādhiyojñādhane dhyātvā madhyaṃ samāśrayet | yugapacca dvayaṃ tyaktvā madhye tattvaṃ prakāśate || 61 ||

Translation

Having meditated on the middle place between the two, one should take refuge in the middle. By abandoning both at once, the truth shines in the middle.

The verse instructs the practitioner to rest in the gap or center between opposites, where true reality becomes evident.
