Verse 38Sound

Inner Sound into Brahman

Bhairava

Listen inwardly for a sound that is not coming from outside, like a soft ringing or hum in stillness. Don’t try to create it; just notice it and stay with it. As your attention deepens, the sound itself can lead you into a quieter, more spacious awareness.

विज्ञानभैरव तन्त्रम् अनाहते पािकणेऽभिशब्दे सवरद्द्रुते । शब्दब्रह्मवण वनष्णात् परं ब्रह्मावधगच्छवत ॥ ३८ ॥

anāhate pāṇikahne'bhīśabde svarad-drute | śabda-brahmaṇi niṣṇātaḥ paraṃ brahmādhigacchati || 38 ||

Translation

By immersion in the unstruck sound within the palm-like cavity, and in the swift flow of inner sound, one becomes adept in sound-Brahman and attains the supreme Brahman.

Attend to the subtle unstruck inner sound until it carries the mind beyond sound into the highest reality.
