Verse 39Breath
Void Beyond Breath
Bhairava
This verse says that when you chant a sacred sound and then let it end and become still, there is a quiet gap you can enter. Rather than rushing to the next breath or thought, rest in that opening. That stillness is described as the doorway to emptiness.
प्रणिावदसमुच्चारात् प्लुतान्ते शून्यभािानात् । शून्यया परया शक्त्या शून्यतामेवत भैरवि ॥ ३९ ॥
praṇavādi-samuccārāt plutānte śūnyabhāvanāt | śūnyayā parayā śaktyā śūnyatām eti bhairavi || 39 ||
Translation
Through the utterance of pranava and other mantras, and by contemplating voidness at the end of the prolonged sound, Bhairavi reaches emptiness by the supreme शक्ति of emptiness.
Use mantra and the pause after it to enter the void through breath and sound suspension.
