Verse 40Dissolution
Form Dissolves into Emptiness
Bhairava
This verse invites you to notice how anything begins and ends, whether it is a sound, a thought, or an image. If you keep following it without clinging, it naturally disappears. What remains is a spacious, open kind of presence.
यस्य कस्यावप िणधस्य पूिाधन्तािनुभाियेत् । शून्यया शून्यभूतोऽसौ शून्याकार् पुमान्भवेत् ॥ ४० ॥
yasya kasyāpi varṇasya pūrvāntāv anubhāvayet | śūnyayā śūnyabhūto'sau śūnyākāraḥ pumān bhavet || 40 ||
Translation
Whatever sound or letter one may contemplate, if one experiences its beginning and end, by emptiness that person becomes empty and takes on the form of emptiness.
Trace any sound or form from start to finish until it dissolves into empty awareness.
