Brow-Closed Gaze at the Bindu
Bhairava
This verse describes blocking outward distractions and looking inward at a tiny point of light or attention. As that point becomes clearer, you do not hold onto it forever; you let it soften and disappear. In the middle of that fading, a deeper stillness appears.
विज्ञानभैरव तन्त्रम् कररुद्धदृगस्त्रेण भ्रूभेदाद्द्वाररोधनात् । दृष्टे विन्दौ क्रमाल्लीने तन्मध्ये परमा वस्थवत् ॥ ३६ ॥
kara-ruddha-dṛgastreṇa bhru-bhedād dvāra-rodhanāt | dṛṣṭe bindau kramāl līne tan-madhye paramāvasthitiḥ || 36 ||
Translation
By the weapon of vision restrained by the hand, by closing the gate through piercing the brow, when the bindu is seen and gradually dissolved, there is the supreme state in its midst.
Seal the senses, focus at the brow, and let the subtle point dissolve into the highest state.
