Verse 151Nonduality

Dissolution of Worship in Bhairava

Bhairava

This verse says the deepest practice is not offering things to something separate. It is entering so fully into the truth that the usual ideas of worship and worshiper fall away. Think of it as moving from “doing prayer” to directly resting in what prayer points to.

विज्ञानभैरव तन्त्रम् रुद्रशविसमावेशस्तत् क्षेत्रं भावना परा । अन्यथा तस्य तत्त्वस्य का पूजा काश्च तृप्यवत ॥ १५१ ॥

vijñānabhairava tantram | rudraśavi-samāveśas tat kṣetraṃ bhāvanā parā | anyathā tasya tattvasya kā pūjā kāś ca tṛpyati || 151 ||

Translation

The absorption of Rudra into the corpse-like [limited condition] is that supreme field of contemplation. Otherwise, what worship could there be, and what could satisfy that reality?

He points to the highest contemplation as absorption into the absolute beyond ritual worship and objective offerings.
