Verse 142Dialogue

Freedom Beyond Action

Devi

The verse asks how someone can be free even while still doing things in the world. It suggests that true liberation is not about stopping all action, but about being inwardly untouched by it. Think of someone playing a role without getting lost in the role.

Translation

Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra. He is liberated, and though acting, he is not afflicted. This is so, O great Lord, up to the supreme state of the divine.

Devi asks about the liberated one who remains untouched by action, pointing toward effortless freedom in activity.
