Resting in the Unsupported Self
Bhairava
Here you simply sit or lie down and notice the feeling of being present without leaning on anything. If you briefly hold your body in mind, as if observing it from the inside, the mind begins to loosen. With practice, old patterns can drop away very quickly.
विज्ञानभैरव तन्त्रम् आसने शयने वस्थत्वा वनराधारं विभावयन् । स्वदेहं मनवस वक्षणे क्षणात्क्षीणाशयो भवेत् ॥ ८२ ॥
āsane śayane sthitvā nirādhāraṃ vibhāvayan | sva-dehaṃ manasi kṣaṇe kṣaṇāt kṣīṇāśayo bhavet || 82 ||
Translation
Sitting or lying down, contemplating the unsupported (nirādhāra), and placing one's own body in the mind for a moment, one becomes rid of mental tendencies in an instant.
Contemplate awareness without support, using the body as a temporary focus until the mind's habitual tendencies fade.
