Devi Offers Final Praise and Gratitude
Devi
Devi is saying that something ordinary can be shared or exchanged, but the deepest spiritual truth is too precious to be handed over casually. She also expresses that the teaching has fully satisfied her. In simple terms, she is thanking the teacher and recognizing the value of what has been received.
प्राणा अवप प्रदातव्या न देयं परमामृतम् । देवदेव माहदेि पवरतृप्तावस्म शङ्कर ॥ १६१ ॥
prāṇā avapa pradātavyā na deyaṃ paramāmṛtam | devadeva māhadei paritṛptāvasma śaṅkara || 161 ||
Translation
The breathes, life-forces, should be given away; but the supreme nectar is not to be given. O God of gods, great Lord, Shankara, we are fully satisfied.
Devi declares that ordinary life-force may be offered, but the highest nectar of realization must be safeguarded and acknowledges complete spiritual fulfillment.
