Seeing Purity Beyond Pure and Impure
Bhairava
This verse says that ordinary ideas of clean and unclean are limited. A deeper purity comes from seeing reality directly, without mental labels. When you stop dividing the world into rigid categories, a simpler happiness appears.
vijñānabhairava tantram kiṃcijjñeyā smṛtā śuddhiḥ sā śuddhiḥ śambhudarśane | na śucirhy aśucis tasmān nirvikalpaḥ sukī bhavet || 123 ||
Translation
What is remembered as a little knowable purity—such purity is in the vision of Śambhu; therefore, neither pure nor impure, one becomes happy, free from conceptual construction.
Recognize that real purity lies in direct vision of Śiva, beyond social or mental judgments of pure and impure.
