Verse 115Space
Mindlessness in the Vast Void
Bhairava
Looking into a deep well or from a great height can suddenly quiet thinking because the mind loses its usual footing. The verse uses that shock to point beyond thought. In that openness, the mind can drop into a simple, wordless awareness.
विज्ञानभैरव तन्त्रम् कूपावदके महागते वस्थित्वोपरि निरीक्षणात् । अविकल्पमते् सम्यक्सद्यवश्चत्तलय् िुटम् ॥ ११५ ॥
vijñānabhairava tantram kuppāvadake mahāgate avasthitvo parīkṣaṇāt | avikalpamateḥ samyak sadyaś cittalayaṃ bhavet || 115 ||
Translation
Standing at the mouth of a well or a great precipice and looking out, the mind becomes rightly and instantly dissolved into nonconceptuality.
Use a vast or dizzying spatial setting to break conceptual thought and dissolve the mind into emptiness.
