Verse 88Visualization
Eyes Half-Closed in Darkness
Bhairava
You relax your eyes until they are partly closed and look into the dark, soft field in front of you. Instead of straining, you simply rest in that dimness and imagine it as Bhairava's presence. Staying there gently can make you feel merged with it.
एवमेि वनमील्यादौ नेिे कृष्णाभमाग्रत् । प्रसायध भैरवं रूपं भाियम्स्तन्मयो भवेत् ॥ ८८ ॥
evam eva nimīlyādau netre kṛṣṇābham agrataḥ | prasārya bhairavaṃ rūpaṃ bhāvayan tan-mayo bhavet || 88 ||
Translation
Likewise, at the beginning with the eyes half-closed, and with darkness-like blackness before one, extending the gaze and contemplating the form of Bhairava, one becomes identified with that.
Let the half-closed gaze and dim visual field become a doorway into Bhairava-identification.
