Giving the Teaching Carefully
Bhairava
This verse says the teaching should be passed on to sincere seekers and teachers, not treated like something to trade for money or status. It reminds us not to let worldly attachments control sacred instruction. The real value is inner awakening, not outer possessions.
भिानां गुरुिगधस्य दातव्यं वनविधशङ्कया । ग्रामो राज्यं पुरं देश् पुिदारकुटुम्बकम् ॥ १५९ ॥
bhaktānāṃ guruvargasya dātavyaṃ nirvivaśaṅkayā | grāmo rājyaṃ puraṃ deśaḥ putradāra-kuṭumbakam || 159 ||
Translation
It should be given, without hesitation, to the devoted, to the lineage of gurus. [Do not give it for] village, kingdom, city, land, sons, wife, or family.
He instructs that the teaching be entrusted to worthy devotees rather than exchanged for worldly gains or social attachments.
