Verse 131Nonduality
Seeing Through the 'I' and 'Mine'
Bhairava
This verse points out that the mind keeps getting pulled into thoughts of “me” and “mine.” Instead of following those thoughts, you are asked to gently bring attention back to a place with no grasping or support. It is like letting a ball stop bouncing and settle into stillness.
अहं ममेदवमत्यावद प्रवतपवत्तप्रसङ्गत् । वनराधारे मनो यावत तद्ध्यानप्रेरणाच्छमी ॥ १३१ ॥
ahaṃ mamedam ity āvad pravṛtti-prasaṅgāt | nirādhāre mano yāvat tad dhyāna-preraṇāc chami || 131 ||
Translation
As long as the mind runs on in the movement of 'I' and 'mine,' remain steady by directing meditation that leads it back to the supportless state.
To dissolve possessiveness and egoic self-reference by returning the mind to its supportless source through meditation.
