Verse 53Nonduality

Seeing the World as Dual and Nondual

Bhairava

This verse asks you to look carefully at how the world appears split into opposites and separate things. Then, instead of chasing those differences, let your attention settle into one steady presence. That steady presence is said to be the highest human fulfillment.

विज्ञानभैरव तन्त्रम् एवं एव जगत्सं द्विधं ध्यात्वा विकल्पतः । अनन्यचेतस् पुम्स् पुम्भाव् परमो भवेत् ॥ ५३ ॥

vijñānabhairava tantram evaṃ eva jagatsaṃ dvिधaṃ dhyātvā vikalpataḥ | ananyacetas pumस् pumbhāv paramo bhavet || 53 ||

Translation

Vijñānabhairava Tantra. Thus, contemplating the world as divided in a twofold way through conceptualization, one whose mind is no longer directed elsewhere becomes the supreme state of manhood or full being. || 53 ||

Use reflective seeing of the world's dual appearance, then let the mind become single-pointed and beyond division.
