Beyond Time, Place, and Description
Devi
Devi addresses Bhairava with devotional language, then points out that he is beyond ordinary ideas like place, time, and labels. This means the truth she seeks cannot be captured by descriptions alone. She is setting up the question: how can such reality be approached directly?
विज्ञानभैरव तन्त्रम् देवदेव विशूलाङ्क कपालकृतभूषण । वदवदेशकालशून्या च व्यपदेशवििवजधता ॥ २२ ॥
vijñānabhairava tantra | devadeva viśūlāṅka kapālakṛtabhūṣaṇa | vadadeśakālaśūnyā ca vyapadeśa-virjitā || 22 ||
Translation
O God of gods, O trident-marked one, adorned with a skull-garland, beyond place and time and beyond all designation...
Praise Bhairava as beyond every conceptual coordinate, preparing the ground for direct instruction.
