Transcending the Defiling Passions
Bhairava
This verse says not to run away from difficult emotions, but to let them settle instead of following them. When the mind stops getting pulled around by desire, anger, and jealousy, a deeper truth can be noticed. It is like muddy water becoming clear when left undisturbed.
विज्ञानभैरव तन्त्रम् कामक्रोधलोभमोहमदमात्सयधगोचरे । िुवद्धं वनवस्तवमतां कृत्वा तत्तत्त्वमिवशष्यते ॥ १०१ ॥
kāma-krodha-lobha-moha-mada-mātsarya-dhāgocare | buddhaṃ nivastamitaṃ kṛtvā tat tattvam aviśiṣyate || 101 ||
Translation
In the field of lust, anger, greed, delusion, pride, envy, and such stains, having made the intellect still and completely restrained, one becomes identical with that reality.
Use the pressure of strong emotions and mental impurities as a field for making the mind still until nondual reality shines through.
